This is a short, plain explanation of what we do with your personal information when you use this website or buy from us.
Who we are
This website is run by Wing Chun Kung Fu Ltd, trading as Halesowen Wing Chun. We decide how your information is used, so under UK GDPR we are the “controller”.

What we collect and why
- Orders. When you buy, we collect your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number and what you ordered. We use it to take your order, send it, deal with returns and refunds, and keep our accounts. We need it to carry out your order (contract), and the law makes us keep accounting records (legal obligation).
- Payments. Card payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or keep your full card number.
- Messages. If you email, phone or text us, we keep what you send so we can reply. This is in our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
- Website visits. Like most sites, we and our providers get basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you view. We use it to keep the site working and secure, and to see how it is used.
- Emails. We only send you news or updates if you have asked us to. You can stop them at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We only share it with people who help us run the shop, and only what they need: Stripe (payments), the postal and courier services that deliver your order, and the companies that host and protect this website and send our emails. We will also share information if the law requires it. Some of these companies may handle information outside the UK; where they do, we expect them to use the safeguards UK law requires.
Cookies
The shop uses cookies to remember your basket and keep the checkout working. We also use basic visitor statistics to see how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the basket may not work without them.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records. We keep emails and messages only as long as we need them to deal with your query.
Paper forms
The club does not keep paper forms.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it or limit how we use it, object to how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can take it back at any time. To do any of this, email sifu@wingchunhalesowen.co.uk, phone 07821 126 685 or write to the address above. We will reply within one month.
Complaints
We pay the data protection fee to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top will change.
